Many thanks to Celia Harris and her group of volunteers for all their work on our twice a year book sales. Our next sale is on Friday and Saturday, April 16th and 17th. Friday's sale continues to 9 pm and Saturday's to 4 pm. |

Donations of books are accepted throughout the year. You may bring them to the Community Animal Centre, 5850 Auto Road SE. In our experience there is not a market for encyclopedias, Readers' Digest, magazines or outdated text books so we ask that you please DO NOT bring those. | Day Camp |

We have two days for our camps this year. On April 23rd the theme is "All about Pets" for ages 8 to 11. On May 21st the theme is "Careers with Pets and Farm Animals" for ages 10 to 13. Sessions run from 8:30 am to 3 pm. |

For the April 23rd session we will focus on cats, dogs, small animals and some discussion of Exotic Pets. Topics will include proper care, training, grooming, first aid and other responsibilities. On May 21st we will be inviting such people as a veterinarian, farmer, dog trainer, groomer or kennel manager to tell about their work. Pre-registration for these days will be necessary (by Apr 16 or May 14). The maximum number each day is 20 campers. The fee is $20 for the day. For details call Ev at 835 8371 or Janet at 835 2270. |

We look forward to another Adoption Challenge in May of 2010. |

For May, 2009 we were fortunate to have space at the Piccadilly Mall to show off some of our adult cats and 20 of them found new homes! We were able to match our adoption numbers of 2008. |

We had a very successful event in 2009, raising over $33 000. Our top fundraisers were Janet Pattinson, Pat Lagimodiere, Shirley Robillard and Annemieke Loohuizen. Top youth fundraiser was Chantel Jeffrey. |
